Toronto, Ontario

Toronto is the most populous city in Canada, the provincial capital of Ontario, and the centre of the Greater Toronto Area, the most populous metropolitan area in Canada. In the 2011 census, Toronto had a population of 2,615,060, making it the fifth largest city in North America. A city report released in 2013 shows the city is now the fourth most populous city in North America, after Mexico City, New York City, and Los Angeles. A global city, Toronto is an international centre of business, finance, arts, and culture, and is widely recognized as one of the most multicultural and cosmopolitan cities in the world.

Toronto is a prominent centre for music, theatre, motion picture production, and television production, and is home to the headquarters of Canada’s major national broadcast networks and media outlets. Its varied cultural institutions, which include numerous museums and galleries, festivals and public events, entertainment districts, national historic sites, and sports activities, are key attractions to the over 25 million tourists that visit the city each year. Toronto is well known for its skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, in particular the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere, the CN Tower. As Canada’s commercial capital, the city is home to the Toronto Stock Exchange, the headquarters of Canada’s five largest banks, and the headquarters of many large Canadian and multinational corporations. Its economy is highly diversified with strengths in technology, design, financial services, life sciences, education, arts, fashion, business services, environmental innovation, food services, and tourism.

Brampton

Officially designated a City in 1974, Brampton is a diverse, cosmopolitan, and vibrant place to be. From a population of 500 in 1853 to 523,911 in 2011, Brampton is Canada’s second fastest growing City. Brampton has been designated as an urban growth area and by 2031, the City’s population is expected to grow to 725,000. The City of Brampton is home to more than 8,000 businesses, including manufacturing, retail and wholesale trade.

In addition to a well developed economic base, Brampton residents enjoy a high quality lifestyle. It combines big city convenience with traditional quality of life. Caledon

Caledon spreads over 700 kilometers, with a population of 75,000 people. Caledon is rural in nature however it does border the urban centers of Brampton and Orangeville.

The Town of Caledon has over 70 parks totaling more than 300 acres. There is also over 260 km of publicly accessible trails within the Town of Caledon including 105 km of the Bruce Trail. The Town of Caledon currently owns and maintains the 36 km of the Caledon Trail way, and a 1 km portion of the Etobicoke Creek Trail.

Mississauga

Mississauga is an interesting, vibrant city with lots to offer residents. In fact, with a population of just over 700,000, it’s the sixth-largest city in Canada. Neighboring Toronto, it forms part of the GTA (the Greater Toronto Area), as well as Peel Region (comprised of the municipalities of Mississauga, Caledon and Brampton). While some people dismiss Mississauga as only a massive suburb of Toronto, it’s a city in itself with its own unique personality and attractions. While the cost of living may be high in Mississauga, the good news is that according to a report by Express Employment Professionals, the city has the 6th hottest job market in Canada. Between 2016 and 2018, Mississauga also experienced the greatest business growth in the Peel region, with an impressive increase of 10.5%. The average salary is $57,000, with popular jobs being Operations Manager, Administrative Assistant and Project Manager.

Milton

Milton is a burgeoning Ontario town that has seen dramatic growth in its population, economy, and housing development. With an astounding 56% rise in the town’s population from 2006 to 2011, Milton, ON is now home to over 85,000 people. ‘Miltonians’ have access to a wide range of cultural spaces, local community events, beautiful conservation parks and other recreational areas. With some of the highest household incomes in the Greater Toronto area, you will find many upscale real estate options in Milton and family-friendly communities.

Oakville

Oakville is a town in southern Ontario, located in Halton Region on Lake Ontario halfway between Toronto and Hamilton. At its 2016 census population of 193,832, it is Ontario’s largest town. Oakville is part of the Greater Toronto Area, one of the most densely populated areas of Canada. Oakville’s rich history is preserved and promoted by three active historical societies: the Bronte Historical Society, the Oakville Historical Society and the Trafalgar Township Historical Society, each of which offers tours, hosts events and commemorates Oakville’s oldest communities. Oakville is now home to over 200,000 people in 13 traditional neighbourhoods. Our present identity is very much shaped by our relationship to the natural wonders of the land, the spirit of our residents and our thriving industries – just as it was in the very beginning.
